This peaceful retreat on the San Francisco Peninsula reflects the casual lifestyle and elemental design style of the family who call it home. A mashup of old and new furnishings gives their light-filled dwelling the feeling of a beach house in the summer that transitions into a cozy cabin in the winter. Natural surfaces and textures combine with folding glass doors to blur the line between indoors and out. The comfortable, multipurpose rooms are filled with memorable art, hidden storage and relaxation spaces to achieve the modern rustic feel the clients want for themselves, their family and their pets.
This was the home of Katherine North Carroll (President & Principal Designer at Northbrook Design) and her family when they lived in California.
