SHIPS IN THE PANAMA CANAL

On a recent trip to Panama, I transitted the canal from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean on a Nordhaven motor yacht with my husband, brother-in-law and his wife. Being on the water for six days was a new experience for me, and watching ships go through in both directions was fascinating. Where were they coming from, where were they headed, where were they built, what were they carrying? The ship colors ranged from very subtle to bright, and the same was true for the containers on board. Here are a few of my favorite images of ships and containers.
